The Balogun of Ibadan land, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is expected to be crowned as the next Olubadan of Ibadan land, which is subjected to the approval of the Governor, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State
It is expected that palace drummers would move from Alli-Iwo to the Ita Baale Palace of Ọba Olakulehin, heralding his symbolic ascension to the throne.
He will be crowned following the demise of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, on Thursday.
Ọba Olakulehin is the next in line to the late Olubadan.
Access24 reports that the remains of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, will be interred according to Islamic rites on Friday, March 15, 2024, at his Aliiwo ancestral home in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The burial announcement was made by the monarch’s younger brother who is the Baba-Kekere Olubadan, Kola Balogun.
