Lagos State Experiences Low Turnout Of Voters.

The governorship and State House of Assembly elections in Lagos State, witnessed a low turnout of voters, compared to the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, held all over the country.

Lagos State, which has the highest number of polling units for the 2023 general elections, also witnessed the heavy presence of security operatives on major streets in and around the state.

Workers of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) were present at the 245 wards in the state, as some polling units witnessed late commencement of voting.

In some of the polling units in the Ogba area of Lagos state, Access24 Correspondent, Deji Ogunsola, reported that electorates complained about the low turnout of voters, noting that the voting process was calm and peaceful.

The electorates further talked on trusting the electoral process, as they highlighted various issues the next governor of Lagos state should face, in order to take the state forward.

At 3:00 pm, voting had stopped in various polling stations in the state, as vote counting was carried out by Staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
