The Ministry of Transportation in Lagos State, has revealed that rehabilitation work will be carried out on Third Mainland Bridge, Sunday April 2.
This was revealed by Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, on Saturday April 1, noting that the repair was as a result of some parts of the bridge that had been identified to have peeled.
Oladeinde disclosed traffic diversion plans for the rehabilitation process occurring between 9 am and 4 pm, stating the readiness of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation to carry out the project.
The Commissioner further stressed that traffic would be diverted from one lane to another lane at the identified failed asphaltic sections on the bridge.
He added that the repair was necessary, in order to solve tailbacks along the bridge, as a result of the failed sections.
Oladeinde also assured Lagosians that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be on ground to direct traffic to reduce the inconveniences.
The statement therefore implored motorists to be patient as the measures taken are aimed at providing quality and safe road infrastructure for everyone in Lagos state.
