Nigeria’s Super Falcons Wins Second Game At Ongoing Women’s Word Cup

Super Falcons cone from behind to beat Australia women 2-3.

The Nigerian Super Falcons, on Thursday became the first African side to win a game in the women's world cup after coming from behind to beat co host Australia.

Asisat Oshoala 72nd minute goal helped to secure three points for the team in the ongoing Women’s world cup.

Uchenna Kanu and Osinachi Ohale had put the team ahead after initially failing to a half goal from Van Egmond but the Super Falcons proved to be the better side after 90 minutes of the game.

This was Africa's best result so far, as other teams, including South Africa, Zambia, and Morocco, lost their first matches with the Copper Queens becoming the first side to bow out of the competition after a 5-0 mauling in the hands of Spain in their second game.
