DHQ - Three Officers, 22 Soldiers Killed In Niger State Ambush

Three officers and 22 soldiers were killed in Niger State ambush.

The military high command has said no fewer than three officers and 22 soldiers were killed during the ambush on troops in Niger state.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, the Director, Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba said seven soldiers were wounded during the ambush.

He added that onboard the crashed Air Force aircraft on evacuation mission were 14 previously killed soldiers, seven wounded soldiers, two pilots, and two crew members.

Access24 reports that the Nigerian Air Force on Monday 14th August confirmed that one of its aircraft crashed in Niger State.

The Air Force said the aircraft was on a casualty evacuation mission when the crash happened.

A statement by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said the aircraft departed Zungeru Primary School en route to Kaduna but was later discovered to have crashed in a village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger.
