Senate Begins Screening Of Additional Ministerial Nominees, As Kayamo Gets Nominated

Senate has begun Screening of Ministerial Nominees.

The Senate on Friday commenced the screening of the new batch of ministerial nominees.

As listed on the Order paper of the plenary proceedings, the nominees up for screening before the Senate include former Osun governor, Adegboyega Oyetola; former Kebbi governor, Atiku Bagudu; former Plateau governor, Simon Bako Lalong, former Zamfara governor, Bello Matawalle; and former governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Geidam.

Others are Dr. Tunji Alausa (Lagos), Sen. Aliyu Abdullahi (Niger), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri (Bayelsa), Sen. Alkali Saidu (Gombe), Dr. Yusuf Sununu (Kebbi) and Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo (FCT).

Also included are Ahmed Gwarzo (Kano), Bosun Tijani (Ogun), Dr. Mariga Mahmud (Kano) Festus Keyamo (Delta), Dr Isiak Salako (Ogun), Lola John (Lagos), Prof Tahir Mamman (Adamawa), Uba Mamman (Adamawa) and Shuaibu Audu (Kogi).

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has nominated former spokesperson for the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo as minister.

This was revealed when Senate President Godswill Akpabio read out a letter by the President at Friday’s plenary session.

Access24 reports that on Wednesday Tinubu forwarded an additional 19 names of ministerial nominees to complement the previously sent 28-man nominees earlier.
