Nollywood Filmmakers Gather To Unveil “Promising” Talents

Nollywood has numerous actors and actresses who wear different characters to entertain Nigerians in movies.

The steady rise of Nollywood talents in recent years is as a result of investment made by individuals and some corporate bodies who believe that investment in young talented actors is the only way to move the Nigerian movie industry forward.

These were the words of some veteran filmmakers and talent hunters who gathered in the Yaba area of Lagos to unveil young characters in the Nollywood industry.

Briefing reporters about his motivations towards hunting for new and promising talents in the Nigerian movie industry, top Nigerian Media strategist, Ambassador Cornell Udofia, emphasized on investing more on younger talents, in order to boost the performance and ego of the Nollywood industry.

Speaking about the impact and contribution of young talented actors towards the Nollywood industry, one of the unveiled characters, Lovethpstra Ekufu, urged veteran filmmakers to look into investing in young characters.

According to reports, Nollywood produces more than 2,000 movies each year and has an estimated annual revenue of $1.2 billion, making it one of the most prolific film industries in the world.
