President Bola Tinubu has described modernization of cities as an undeniable proof of the government's commitment to the development of a nation.

Speaking at the Daki-biyu district of the Federal Capital Territory, while commissioning the collector road CN8 also known as the Asuquo Okon Way and other connecting routes in the district, the President who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shetima said that paved roads, lightened Streets and smooth flowing traffic, are signatures of a purposeful government..

President Tinubu, who described infrastructure as the most convincing advertisement of leadership, said a modern city not only inspires confidence and attracts investment, but also restores the dignity of those who call it home.

He added that the opening of the district was a sign that cities must work for their people and that a functioning capital is the foundation upon which a functioning nation is built.

While commending the FCT Minister for his sense of urgency in project execution he promised to provide the resources, policy backing, and institutional cooperation needed to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Earlier, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who revealed that the ceremony marked the 14th project commissioned so far, in celebration of the President’s second year in office, said the president 's presence at each event is a testament to his commitment to improving the lives of residents of the FCT.

The minister who acknowledged the patience and resilience of attendees who braved the day’s weather to witness the event, said that the commissioning of the road was part of the broader urban renewal and infrastructure agenda being aggressively pursued by the FCT Administration under the leadership of President Tinubu
