The Lagos State government has warned residents in the state, especially those seeking employment in the State Teaching Service, to be wary of fake recruitment advertisements on social media platforms.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, in a statement on Wednesday, dismissed a recruitment advert released by one Mr Kayode Sutton, Head of the Public Affairs unit.

Abidakun said the claim by the directive of "Ad Hoc Teachers" is alien to the Teaching Service, adding that there is no one by the name, Otufodurin R.T, the signatory to the fake notice in TESCOM.

The Permanent Secretary explained that the said Otufodurin R.T., who allegedly signed the document on behalf of a Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), did not specify which of the six TG/PS gave such a directive.

She maintained that the recruitment exercise into the Teaching Service is done only through the employment portal of the Commission and implored those seeking employment in the Teaching Service of the State Government to wait for an official announcement regarding the application process which will be done strictly through its official portal.

Abidakun urged job seekers to be wary of fraudsters as the Lagos State Government does not do clandestine recruitment, adding that no one should give money to anyone, as employment in the Public Service is based on merit.
