Governor Oyebanji Recalls Information Commissioner Days After Dissolution Of Cabinet

Recall that Governor Oyebanji in a major shakeup, dissolved the state executive council on August 11, 2025, directing commissioners and special advisers to hand over to permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their ministries, departments and agencies.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, has recalled former Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun back to the State Executive Council, barely one week after dissolving his cabinet.

This is contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti, stating that the recall letter was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Habaibat Adubiaro, noting that the recall takes effect with immediate effect.

Recall that Governor Oyebanji in a major shakeup, dissolved the state executive council on August 11, 2025, directing commissioners and special advisers to hand over to permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their ministries, departments and agencies.

At the time of the dissolution, six commissioners, including Finance, Works and Human Capital Development, were retained to ensure continuity in critical sectors of government.

The governor had explained during the dissolution that the decision was aimed at injecting fresh energy into governance, while also reaffirming his commitment to his “shared prosperity” agenda.
