The Governor commiserates With His Family, President Tinubu

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, has expressed shock at the passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dapo described his death as a devastating news to him.

Abiodun, in a statement issued in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital said even though death is a bill that all mortals must pay, the death of the former president came as a rude shock to him.

He described Buhari as a gallant soldier and patriot whose commitment to the Nigerian cause shone through while he served as military Head of State, and later as democratically elected president.

He said that Buhari's civilian presidency was enabled by his record as a scrupulously honest, no-nonsense General who believed that no national progress could be achieved without discipline and accountability.

The Ogun Governor condoled with Buhari's family, his wife Hajia Aisha Buhari, the people and Government of Katsina State, the Daura Emirate, and the Nigerian Army.

He also commiserated with President Bola Tinubu who he said has lost a friend and comrade in the struggle for a better Nigeria. 

The former president, died while receiving treatment for an illness in London, United Kingdom, on Sunday Just 13.
