Falcons Get Natl. Honours, Cash Reward for WAFCON Title

Tinubu showers Nigerian national female team gifts for winning a 10th WAFCON title

Members and the technical crew of the Nigerian female national team, the Super Falcons have been allocated three-bedroom apartments in Abuja at the Renewed Hope Estate.

The team also got cash award of the naira equivalent of $100,000 each to the 24 players and $50,000 to each of the 11-man technical crew.

Nigerian president Bola Tinubu who doled out these gifts also handed the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger, on the Super Falcons and the entire technical crew.

“I hereby conferred on the players, the 11 man technical team with national honours of the Officer of the Order of the Niger.

“Additionally, I have I directed the allocation of three bedroom apartments in the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme," Tinubu declared.

The Nigerian Governors Forum represented by its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq, gifted a sum of 10 million to each team member.

The team were received at the Presidential Villa on Monday, after arriving the country after winning a 10th WAFCON title at the 2025 tourney in Morocco on Saturday.

Access24 News reports that the African champions have dominated the WAFCON tournament since its inception in 1998 winning 10 titles, only Equitoral Guinea -2008, 2010- and South- 2022- have won the other tournaments.
