Brazil's former president Jair Bolsonaro has canceled all his engagements in July due to ill health, to seek emergency care.
A statement signed by the former president and published by his son Flavio on social media platform X said "the vomiting and hiccup attacks have become constant, preventing him from even speaking".
His doctors in another statement said he will remain on bed rest for July.
The cancellation of event is to ensure the complete recovery of his health following extensive surgery and a prolonged hospitalisation.
Bolsonaro underwent surgery on April 13 for an intestinal obstruction following complication from a stabbing attack during his 2018 campaign.
After the abdominal surgery that kept him in intensive care for several weeks, doctors recommended he avoid crowds.
Bolsonaro is being tried for allegedly leading a "criminal organization" that plotted a coup to keep him in power after being defeated by leftist Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva Brazil's 2022 elections.
Prosecutors say the alleged coup plot failed to materialise due to a lack of support from the military high command.
