The arrest of the former CBN governor was sequel to an Abuja High Court order of Thursday, July 13, 2023 that Emefiele be charged or released.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has revealed that it has charged the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, to court.
This development is as a result of an order by an Abuja High Court on Thursday, revealing that Emefiele has been charged to court.
This was revealed by the spokesman of the service, Peter Afunanya, who confirmed that Emefiele has been charged to court in compliance with the court order.
