Gov. Mohammed Has Inaugurated Committee On Emirates, Others Creation

Governor Bala Mohammed has inaugurated a committee to review requests for the creation of proposed traditional institutions across the state.
This move is part of effort to address growing agitation for creation of Emirates, Districts and Chiefdoms by various communities across Bauchi state.
Governor Mohammed, while inaugurating the committee at the Bauchi Government House on Friday described the move as a commitment by his administration to ensure fairness, inclusiveness, and strengthening local governance structures.
He said that the creation of new traditional institutions would be guided by a desire to promote peaceful coexistence, cultural heritage, and administrative efficiency rather than personal or political interests.
According to the Governor, the committee will review all requests submitted for the creation of Emirates, Chiefdom, and Districts.
He said the committee will also make recommendations based on principles of equity, inclusiveness, and financial sustainability as well as interacting with stakeholders and conducting field assessments where necessary to validate claims.
Governor Mohammed says the committee will also recommend deserving communities for new traditional institutions, propose administrative frameworks for the effective functioning of the newly created Emirates, Chiefdom or Districts and Submit a detailed report with actionable recommendations within eight weeks.
