The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abubakar Kyari, has emerged as the party’s National Chairman.

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives, Congress, APC, on Monday, announced the resignation the chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
The confirmation of their resignation, was announced on Monday, during the committee’s meeting chaired by Senator Abubakar Kyari who revealed that he has taken over as Acting Chairman of the party. He also said that the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Barrister Festus Fuanter has taken over as Acting Secretary.
The new leadership also announced the postponement of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings that was earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kyari stated that Fuanter, who hails from Plateau State, officially assumed his new position as the acting national secretary on Monday.
Addressing reporters, Kyari confirmed that both Omisore and the erstwhile National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, are no longer part of the APC leadership.
“We are here to address the happenings and recent developments regarding the party. The NWC wishes to inform you about the resignation of the National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu and that of the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore”.He said.
Kyari said that according to the Constitution of the APC, he is now the acting national chairman of the party.
“My humble self as the Deputy National Chairman (North) to assume the office of the Acting National Chairman. Consequently too, the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter, will now assume the office of Acting National Secretary of All Progressives Congress.” said Kyari.
