In order to assure correct identification of people in the state, he also prohibited the wearing of facemasks in public.

This is a follow-up to a string of security lapses the state has recently witnessed.

During a meeting with all first- and second-class traditional rulers in the state, including local government council chairmen, he gave the directive on Tuesday in Lokoja.

Additionally, Lokoja, Osara, Zango, Itobe, Obajana, and all other parts of the state were ordered by Bello to have their shantytowns removed and demolished.

He advised the local government chairmen, the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Local Government Chairmen, Union leaders, and Security agencies to meet with tricycle and motorcycle riders for proper documentation.

Additionally, Governor Bello encouraged all traditional leaders to protect their territories and see to it that all of their local crevices are cleaned.

Ensuring peaceful coexistence in your domain is your exclusive responsibility. You have the exclusive responsibility to ensure that all nooks and crannies of your areas are free from criminality of all sorts,” the governor said.
He also expressed sympathy to the loved ones of the security agents who died last Saturday in the Ajaojuta Local Government Area.

Bello issued a stern warning to politicians not to become engaged in anything that could jeopardize the public’s calm and the security they currently enjoy while urging all local government council chairmen and security agencies to continue carrying out their duties without fear or favor.
